me two pounds of delicious Hunt Club pig sausage. Surely is good.

Mr. Many went home today with an acute case of bersitus. We have had it tough at the office for the past few weeks. Thank goodness the mumps have by-passed me so far.

Gosh, it’s really hot and dry, but we do have peas, corn and onions up in the garden and yesterday a mama hen came up with five baby chicks. They are cute but I am plumb scared to death of a mama hen. I remember one time that Arthur sent Evie and me for some geese he bought. We got home with them O.K. but when we turned them out they ran us both 'from the barn to the front door, with Evie yelling( “wait for me mamma!”

You know I have always said the Rappahannock News was like a letter from home and only today Julia Settle said she was giving me all the socials she could because the Settles do not write much and by reading' the paper they keep in touch. That goes for my brother and sister also. Hope they read this.

From Miss Ivy Bruce comes this closing word: :■ Count that day lost, whose low,

descending sun Views from thy hand no worthy

action done.

So, until next week, F^lks,

Stay happy,
