Williams’ Friday Visit
George Williams, Associate Extension Horticulturalist, is back on the job after several months leave of absence while on active duty. Tomorrow being Apple Blossom Festival time, George will come visit any problem orchards on Monday, May 2nd. He will start his usual weekly Friday visits to Rappahannock orchards on May 6th and will continue to do so weekly through the critical spray period, f ruit growers wishing Mr. Williams' assistance call the county agent’s office-Washington 2231.

The varied colors of springtime are making their way rapidly up the slopes lof the Blue Ridge Mountains throughout Shenandoah National Park, and visitors to the area will be rewarded by a leisurely ride along the Skyline Drive.
Easily identifiable are the redbud (Judas Tree), shadblow, serviceberry, pink and white ifruit trees, dogwood, and the yellow spice bust (found most abundantly along the streams. The redbud and dogwood, now in full bloom at lower elevations, may be expected to reach their peak along the Drive this week. ^
