Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors has allotted , $1,000 to the County Library which is being established on Gay Street in Washington, Va. This action was taken by the Board at the November meeting held on the 7th, at the court house.

fv* WarjCentem^J{jk>i^mjjjjyg%i.oii for -participation-hr the~«€entenrilel celebration. After due consideration, the Board decided that the most fitting commemoration would be a gift to the library fund and included $1,000 in the budget for this purpose.

Mrs. B. M. Miller, a Trustee for the library, was at the meeting and told of the progress being made on the building. She stated that the roof had been repaired, floors repaired and sanded, the interior painted, window panes replaced (many were apparently shot out by rifles earlier this year), and the grounds cleaned up. Heat is the next major problem, and Mrs. Miller said the gift was most appreciated at this time.

Other routine business to come before the Board was a report by T. C. Lea, Jr., Civil Defense

Below is shown the latest development in house construction in Flint Hill. A 20-40 ft pre-fab was delivered last week to Nelson Atkins. The basement was dug and foundation laid. The house was delivered in two section? on trailers. A crane lifted one half, containing three rooms, and placed it on the foundation, then placed the other half likewise. The structure comes with plumbing and wiring ready to hook up, built ip kitchen, floor carpets, furnace and water heater. It took about 2!4 hours to get the house up. Finishing details are done later. The company which sells the house does all the work from basement to completion.
