Flower Instructor
Scheduled By Club
Mrs. F. Paige Butler of Charlottesville, will give two lessons in flower arranging on Tuesday, Nov. 27, in Orange County High School auditorium. Dolly Madison Garden Club of Orange, is sponsoring the instructor who will give the first lesson from 10:30 a. m. until 12 noon, and the second from 1:30 p. m. until 2:30.
Mrs. Butler, a nationally accredited flower show judge, will also answer questions from the audience. She has lectured in North and South Carolina as well as Virginia.
She is a graduate of Mary Washington, has helped to organize many garden clubs and is a director of the Shenandoah District, Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs.
Tickets for the day’s lessons may be purchased at the door for $2.50.
Apple Crop Forecast
Undergoes Revision
A revised prediction on size of Virginia’s apple crop this year reduces the former estimate by 16 percent, to an expected total production of from 9 to 9'4 million bushels, say Virginia Polytechnic Institute agricultural economists.
The outlook for the future is for a larger crop both in Virginia and nationwide next year. The price for processing apples, however, may not drop much below this year’s price since the
