Two Auto Accidents
In County This Week
Two single-car accidents were reported in Rappahannock this week by Trooper W. A. Buntin, who investigated them.
Earl Henry Jacobs of Warrenton, Va., driving a 1957 Ford sedan, ran through a stop sign at Massie’s Corner and skidded across Rte. 211 into a ditch and fence, knocking down several road signs and a billboard. The accident occurred November 17 at 1:30 a.m. There were no injuries.
An estimated damage of $200 was done to the automobile and $200 to the signs.
William Herman Ferguson of Jeffersonton, Va. was involved in an accident on November 18 at 2:30 a.m. on Rte. 211, two miles east of Washington, Va. Driving a 1954 Ford sedan, he lost control of the vehicle on a series of curves, hit the bank on the right side of the highway land turned over.
Ferguson was taken to Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal, by Rappahannock Rescue Squad with lacerations of the face and head, possible concussion and back injuries.
Damage to the car was estimated at $400.
