Diplomas were rolled and tied, gowns were delivered and pressed, shoes were shined, and cameras loaded, all in preparation for the commencement exercises of the 13th graduating class of Rappahannock High School. The ceremony took place in an orderly fashion and then to the strains of the recessional march, the group of graduates filed out of RCHS as a class for the last time. Of course, graduation didn't end there for graduates and friends gathered at the fire hall in Flint Hill for one last fling together— A great time for everyone. And now that the 1963 Sen« iors are no longer RCHS stu dents, they have begun to go their separate ways. College bound students are preparing for more grueling years of study ( this includes lots of rest and visits with friends who they will not see for some time after they plunge into their higher education); others are beginning new jobs (that high school diploma really helps); and still others have taken off for parts unknown (they’re the lu9ky ones.)
