I We were asked recently If ! the Lions had stopped roaring — indeed No!! The Eye Sight Conservation program, along with the other community activities is still very much on the DO list for the local Club. Only the publicity of same has been missing. It is true this year, as always, that fall and school opening creates the largest drain on the Club’s treasury for glasses and examinations and to meet these obligations the Club has several fund raising projects underway. Those delicious fruit cakes will again be available, so forget the extra . calories and really give yourself a treat this season. All lions will have them shortly. They also have excellent brooms, made by the blind, with which to sweep up any crumb that falls. This year, beginning October 13, and for the next week-end also, the Lions Club will hold an Apple Sale. The sale will be conducted from two locations, in Washington at the blinker light and from the Packing Plant at Flat Woods. Tell all your friends that the re will be high quality apples at j reasonable prices. A purchase helps someone in need, too.
Cud Of Thanks
I wish to thank my many friends, neighbors and relatives for their cards, letters, beautiful flowers, gifts, visits and prayers during my recent hospitalization. Also, 1 am very grateful to my wonderful neighbors for the kindness shown my family during my illness.
