and they seem to be very interested in getting a good club going. The club had to postpone their meeting from Tuesday until Wednesday due to a death in the community. Are there any ladies in the county who would be interested in tailoring a suit or coat for fall? If enough ladies are interested, I will conduct a tailoring class. This class would be open to anyone interested. You do not have to be a home demonstration member to participate. Please call me or drop me a card if you are interested.
The plans for the luncheon j in connection with the Library Dedication on October 19th are shaping up well. The menu will include ham biscuits, fried chicken, scalloped potatoes, tossed salad, pickles, I olives, apple pie and coffee! j The public is invited. Tickets i will be $1.25. Anyone who! would like to donate apple 1 pies, please contact me. We ; need 35 pies.

Settle entertained with an outdoor barbecue on Saturday for their weekend guests of Sept. 28, Mrs. Calvin Shipe and sons Mark and Bruce and daughter Janie, and nephew Bob Elkins all of Lancaster, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. Luther Elkins and son and daughter-inlaw, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Elkins all of Charleston, W. Va. Mrs. Shipe and Mrs. Luther Elkins are sisters of Mrs. Settle. On Tuesday Mr. and -Mrs. Settle were dinner guests of Mrs. Medford Aylor of Aylor, Va. Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Gaines and Mrs. Claude Gaines and her granddaughter little Miss Linda Gaines were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gaines of Falls Church. Mrs. Claude Gaines remained with the Bill Gaines Sunday night and returned to her work in Alexandria on Monday morning.
Miss Jessie Sisk of Culpeper was a Monday overnight guest of Miss Linda Jenkins. Jimmie Wright of Washington, D. C. was a Sunday guest of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Jenkins. Mrs. Raymond Fincham and daughters Arlene and Peggy, Mrs. Blanch Fincham and grandson Tom and Glen Cave of Madison, vistted Miss Dolly Fincham at Big ’Meadows, Lodge Saturday evening. Mrs. Robert E.
