Back in 1947 In Chicago, a Great Books Program developed out of employees’ discussion groups led by Charles F. Strubbe, Jr. and otherq growing from a membership of 250 to nearly a quarter million with headquarters listed In most of our major cities. A Great Books Foundation has been established and provides guidance in reading and discussions to any group of 15 or more who will meet together twice a month to study and discuss given lists of books. There are usually two leaders who ask questions designed to stimulate thought and discussion. Theytakedlfferent views, hoping to bring out all sides and help each one find his own conclusions.
