He attended the College of William and Mary between the years 1893-1896 and at the time of his death was the third oldest alumnus of that Institution He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He was a member of Slate Mills Baptist Church, a Mason, a Shriner and a Knights Templar.
He is survjved by his wife, Mrs. Bessie Ramsey Quaintance of Slate Mills; two sonq Dr. Rupert W. Quaintance, Je of Culpeper and Barton Quaint ance of Wilmington, Delaware and ten grandchildren. Agraveside serVice was held at Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper Wednesday at 10:00a.m.
