Old Post Office Now A Residence
The residence of Mrs. T. C. Lea on Main Street, Wash ington has had a varied and colorful career having been a barroom, drugstore and bank on its former location across from the Court House on Gay Street. It was moved to the present site in the early 1900’s and was a Post Office until the 1950’s. Mrs. Lea bought it several years ago, made major renovations and has restored it as a Town House. The top picttfre shows the building before it was pebble dashed in the late 20’s and also the brick store that formerly occupied the lot where Lea’s Store now stands. There was a Delco plant in the basement of the earlier store which furnished electricity to many of the residents of the town.
