Grain Handling Clinic
On Tuesday January 28, (10:00 a. m.-3:00 p, m. ) a Forage and Grain Handling Clinic will be held at the Parrish Hall of Trinity Episcopal Church at Washington. Discussions will cover handling these feeds from field to storage and from storage to livestock. Methods of handling, farm processing, and feeding for different types and sizes of farms will be covered with special emphasis on the economy and efficiency of systems.
All farmers have a system of handling feeds; but what about the economy of the operation? Systems involve chore-saving equipment. All equipment costs. Prices aren't getting any cheaper. Prices of repairs, the price of labor, own. ershlp and operating costs. The trends of all are upward.
What is the best system tor your farm? All farms are di& ferent. Chore-saving equipment is nice to have but what guide-lines are there whereby a farmer might justify purchasing a particular piece of equipment. Then too it is a simple matter to over Invest in machinery.
