Over 200 people attended the formal opening of Cittzens National Bank of-Flint Hill Monday, January 20, from 6 to 8 p. m. The Flint Hill Bank merged over a year ago with Citizens National Bank of Front Royal. A new building was constructed and the business moved into its new home over the weekend. New services thepank offers are a night depository, drivein , window, safe deposit boxes and a trust department. Mr. Glen Robertson, president of the banks, said, “Though the banks merged, the Flint Hill branch is still a Rappahannock Bank, for Rappahannock people, managed and operated by Rappahannock personnel. Thousands of Virginians will be able to learn the practical facts about home care of the sick when WRVA-TV, Channel 12 presents the new Red Cross film, “The Home Nursing Story", to its viewers as a public service late this month “The Home Nursing Story", a series of ten half hour films based on the standar dRed Cross “Care of the Sick and Injured” course, will be telecast by WRVA-TV to some 40 counties within a 60-mile radius of the Richmond station from 9;00 - 9:30 a.m. every week-day fnorning January 27 through February 7. Produced for the American National Red Cross by the Office of Civil Defense, “The Home Nursing Story” stars professional actors *and actresses.
Photography was done by the U. S. Army Signal Corps. Subjects covered by narration and demonstration in each of the ten films are : re- . cognition of symptoms of illness, prevention of disease, importance of nutrition, body mechanics and posture, medical supplies for the home and precautions in taking or giving medications, proper use of heat and cold in treating the ill or injured, role of selfhelp in a patient's recovery, safe water supply, safeguarding the health and well-being of children, and individual preparation to assist in disasters.
For maximum training benefits from the film series, home television viewers will be encouraged to attend workshop sessions at their local Red Cross Chapters where an authorized Red Cross instructor will supervise practice sessions.
