Budget Approved

Highway Engineer D. S. Butler presented the 1963-64 final secondary budget for Rappahannock County Secondary System to the Board of Supervisors at the February meeting held the 5th. The budget was approved with Supervisors Estes, Buckner, Luttrell, Foster and Miller voting for it and H. B. Wood against it. , A letter from Hajrvey Pearson discussing die possibility of Rappahannock participating in the nursing home in Warrenton was read and Mrs. Elizabeth Buntin, Superintendent of Public Welfare, was asked to further pursue the possibility. Hospital bills in the amount of $737.64 were submitted by Mrs. Buntin and approved for payment. A letter from Judge R. V. Snead requesting an appropriation for secreterial help was tabled until the March meeting.
Agricultural Extension Division employees requested a salary increase. After reviewing present salaries in budget, it was decided to let them remain as set up in the 63-64 budget. The Commonwealth’s Attorney was requested to write to the Department of Taxation complaining of the 63.5% increase in true land value of Rappahannock County for the past six years.
