Heart Volunteers

The Heart Volunteer Army will be on the march from Feb. 15-29 to give every resident of Rappahannock an op portunity to join the fight against diseases of the heart and blood vessels, responsible for more than 54 percent of all deaths—in the United States. Mrs. T. B. Massie, local Heart chairman, said it is anti cipated that volunteers in rhis community will complete their residential visits by 29th. Each of the estimated 100 volunteers will have then called on from 15 to 25 neighbors, distributing information designed. jtp guard.their, hearts, and health, and receiving gifts for the Heart Fund. Mrs. Massie urged persons who are not at home when their Heart volunteer calls to mail in their gift. Volunteers will leave a special envelope at doors where there is no answer, and this may be used for mailing purposes. Mrs. Massie pointed out that the Heart Fund is the health field's closest approach to a truly unified campaign. . “Most people think of heart attack when heart disease is mentioned," she said. “Heart attack is a major element in the total picture, being responsible for nearly 500,000 deaths each year. But is is only one of many cardiovascular problems with which we have to cope.

Amusville Majorette* Sponsor Dance Saturday "

There will be a dance at Amissville fire hall on Saturday, February 22 from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. The dance is sponsored by the Amissville Twirlettes, a mojorette group and admission is $1 per person. Music will be furnished by The Drifters.
