Pretty, blond Anne. Cannon of Castleton, was crowned “Queen of My Heart- in a valentine party ceremony, at Rappahannock County High School, Friday evening. Anne, ’ daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cannon, and a ninth grade student, was winner of the title in a contest sponsored by the School SCA. She was escorted by John Anderson. A candidate from each of the five high school classes campaigned to gather votes at a penny each, with proceeds going to the scholarship fund which has been established by the school. Through the contest this year $650 was added to the fund. Mrs. Sally Latham Fincham, the 1963 queen, formerly of Amissville, and now living in Arlington, presided at the coronation and John O’Bannon of Woodville was master of ceremonies for the event. First runner-up was Lillian Reeve of Sperryville, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Reeve, and second runner-up was Linda Silvey of Amissville, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, John Silvey, Jr. Miss Reeve was escorted by Gary Deal and Miss Silvey by Barry Jolliffe. Other contestants were Nancy Jenkins, escorted by Frank Jenkins, and Brenda Nalls with Cecil Pullen as her escort. Dancing and . refreshments were enjoyed by the students
