Natural Resources Short Courses at Madison College
A three week short course on Virginia’s Natural Resources will be offered this summer at Madison College In Harrisonburg for the first time. Primarily for Virginia school teachers attending summer sessions, the course will supplement similar courses sponsored by the Virginia Resource-Use Education Council at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, the College of William and Mary and Virginia State College. The courses cover the state’s mineral, soil, forest and wildlife resources. Three semester hours credit will be given for satisfactory completion. A limited number of scholar ships covering tuition, meals and lodging will be available to public school teachers. Applications and further details may be obtained from the Virginia Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries.

Mr. and Mrs. Willie Willis and Mrs. Lillian Fox were visitors in Winchester last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elphinstone of Washington, D. C. spent last week at their home here. Visitors Saturday night of Mr. and Mrs. David A. Williams were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Headly and daughter Becky of Middletown. Mrs. L. Crane of the Fork district is spending some time with Mr. and Mrs. Harve Williams.
Mrs. Odell Williams, who is an out patient at the University of Virginia hospital in Charlottesville, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Herman Williams and family. Mr. and Mrs. David J. Williams of Front Royal visited Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Priest and family Sunday evening. Commander and Mrs. Harold Davis are spending several days this week in Washington while visiting friends. Willie Willis went to Maryland last Saturday to visit relatives for several days.
