Sperryville Fire Department concluded another successful carnival last week and according to president, Robert F. Estes, the gross receipts were over $10,000. J. A. Parker of Remington was awarded the 64 Ford Fai* lane Saturday night. Other prize winners were Roger Welch, Flint Hill who got a ' $50 Savings bond; Charles W. Richetts, Washington, Va., a $25 savings bond; Guy Foster Flint Hill, walnut rocking chair; Ray Sutphin, Culpeper, auto battery and Mrs. Elizabeth Revercomb, case of motor oil. Linda Atkins was crowned queen of the carnival Friday evening by Lonesome George a Luray radio personality.The same evening a bicycle was given away with C. D. Scott of Castleton the winner. Enlist In Army
M/Sgt. Cline, the local Army Recruiter for Rappahannock County,, announced the enlistment into the Army of William Woodard, Sperryville and Floyd Lilly, Front Royal, for-' merly of Huntly. Both Lilly and Woodard are 1964 graduates of Rappahannock County High School. Upon completion of basic training at Fort Jackson, S. C. Lilly will attend the Aviation Electronic Equipment Maintenance School in Fort Gordon Georgia and Woodard will be assigned to Europe.
