Mrs. Heloise Estes Pearson and daughter Mary Diane of Vienna, Mrs. Mamie E. Wrenn of Washington, D. C., Mrs. Hugh T. Estes, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Estes, Jr, of Newcastle were weekend guests at Millmont home of the Misses Essie and Lucy Estes. A delightful birthday party whs given in honor of those whose birthday came in July, Miss Lucy and Miss Essie Estes, Mrs. Heloise Pearson and Hugh Estes, Jr. A birthday cake with four names, four candles and decorated with red roses made a beautiful centerpiece for the occasion.

Mrs. G. Brown Miller entertained with two tables of Bridge on Friday night at her home near Sperryville. Those playing were Mrs. R. E. Patzig, Mrs. E N. Montague, Mrs. T. J. Pillar, Mrs. Mary Botts, Quaintance, Mrs.John P. Snead, Jr., Mrs. L. J. Kilby, Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Jr and Mrs. Roy Reeve. Following the presentation of awards for high scores to Mrs. Johnson andMrs. Quaintance a salad course was served by the hostess.
Charlie attended a family picnic at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward S. Long, Jr. at McGaheysville. Mr, and Mrs. William Dennis and two children of Jackson, South Carolina arrived Monday at the home of Mrs. Dennis’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nether s for a two weeks’ visit. Among those who attended a performance of the popular “Blue Moon* at the Wayside Theatre in Middletown last week Included Mrs. Lock Burford, Miss Virginia Yates Bradford, Mrs. Thomas Eastham, Mrs. Emory Russell and Mrs. Mary Krause. Miss Betty Lee Glascock of Summit Point, W. Va. was a week-end guest of Miss Ginger Russell. Miss Landra Dennis of Amissville was Miss Russell’s guest for a few days this week. Paul Smith of Charlottesville was a week-end visitor of Charlie Smith.
