The Flint Hill Fire Department’s Annual Carnival starts next week on July 29 and runs through August 1. A giant display of fireworks, for all to see and enjoy, will open the event on Wednesday night. A Grand Parade is scheduled for Thursday night, July 30, beginning at 7:00 p.m. D.S.T. The Parade will feature as Grand Marshal the newly crowned “Miss Virginia", Miss Carolyn Lee Eddy of Norfolk, and will be led by the United States Marine Band of Quantico. Another feature attraction of the Parade will be the famous Shriners Khedive Oriental Band from Newport News. The Parade will also contain a United States Navy missile display float and a Marine static display. Entries include twenty top march, ing bands, many beautiful floats, beauty queens, majorette groups, clowns, comic entries, and fire fighting and rescue equipment. The Navy missile display and the Marine static display will be on exhibit on the fair grounds Thursday night. They will be manned by officers who will explain the weapons and answer questions. Friday night, prizes consisting of one hundred dollars cash, a complete set of dishes valued at ninety-five dollars, and twenty-five dollars cash will be awarded. The Carnival will come to a close on Saturday night with the awarding of the grand prize, a 1964 Plymouth automobile and three cash prizes. The brilliantly illuminated midway will contain a large
