Fishing season on the expert mental ponds at the Game Comm lesion's Front Royal Hatchery In Warren County will close Labor Day, Sept. 7, according to Fish Division Chief R. G. Martin. Eight of the hatchery rearing ponds have been used to test the effects of a 14 inch minimum size limit onlargemouthbass. Fishermen are allowed to fish free In either the limit or no-llmit ponds and may keep all legal fish.
Date for the first three years shows larger fish and a greater yield in pounds of both bass and panfish from the pond.; where the 14 inch bass limit was in effect than from the no-limit ponds. Whether the experiment is continued In 1965 will depend oh the analysis of 1964 data. 1
