A nice letter from Congresaman John O. Marsh, Jr. (August 19th) states the House of Representatives had opportunity to vote approval of legia lation setting up a quota sys-l tern of beef import^. The legislation, previously approved by the Senate now goes to the White House. While this is a compromise bill, it does provide that imports will be limit ed to fifteen percent below the level (beef imports) of last year. My reply in addition to my appreciation for Jack's thoughtful letter raised the question of our government’s responsibility to the exporting countries under the GAT agree ment.
Infant Baptism
The Sacrament of Holy Baptism was given to Kathleen Armstrong Laing at St.James Episcopal Church, Warrenton Sunday morning, August 23, following the Morning Worship. The infant is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noel A. Laing, Bunree Farm, Amissville. Godparents of the baby are Mrs. William S. Stokes III of Upperville, Mrs. C. Hunton Tiffany, Richmond and John H. Martin of Leesburg.
