In Tidewater Trials
Bill Sour’s “Mark” and Bill Lyne’s "Klang” placed first and second High General Average, All Age Field at the Tide water Fox Hunter’s Association’s Field Trial and Bench Show held last week at Glou cester. Clifton Clark’s “Betty S.” placed third H. G. A. Derby Hound. High General Average is determined by standing in the four field classes: hunting, trailing, speed and drive and endurance. Mark and Klang were tied in speed and drive and hunting while Mark earned five more points in endurance. Hounds ran for five hours on Thursday, F rid ay and Saturday. The Bench Show was held at Seawell’s Ordinary following an all-you-can-eat oyster roast. Here Clifton Clark’s “Deacon" placed third in the bench class for Derby Males and won the “Natural Carriage” class. Also Mr. Clark's "Betty S.” won third place in the Derby Female class. A Derby hound is one under two years of age. Kling placed third All-Age ¥&■ male hound and thereby won the All-Age Combination Award given the hound placing highest in the field and on the bench. A total of 150 hounds were entered.
