“Also, complying farmers may earn diversion payments for diverting at least ten per cent of their 1965 farm allotment," the Chairman explained. “They may divert up to a maximum of 20 per cent of the allotment or 15 acres, if larger." Farmers who sign by October 2 to participate in the 1965 wheat program may change their intentions at any time before the close of the feed grain signup next March. Another phase of the wheat program that offers the producer “insurance" is that the producer reserves the right to cancel out his contract at any time he wishes without obligation.
As of*Sept. 22, 1964, J. W. Coates, County Office Manager, states that 16 county farmers have signed in the 1965 wheat program. He urged farmers not to delay beyond the October 2 deadline, and better still to come in right away and avoid the expected rush near the end of the signup period.
