Mrs. Ida Wharton
Mrs. Ida Dudy Whorton died Thursday, December 17,1964 at her home in Culpeper at the age of 74. She was a native of Rappahannock County, daughter of the late George and Edwina McFarland Colvin and the widow of James Edward Whorton. She is survived by five sons, Kelly, Marshall and Rixey Whorton of Culpeper, Elwood Whorton of Castleton and Harry Whorton of Rixeyviiie; two daughters, Mrs. lessie Stringfellow and Mrs. Marie Cooke of Culpeper; one brother, George McFarland of Novum; one sister Mrs. Molly Riley of Staunton; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Geest funeral chapel by the Rev. Charles Kindred, pastor of Forest Grove Baptist Church, Viewtown, of which Mrs. Whorton was a member, with Interment in Fairview Cemetery.
