Gets Drill Award

Goldsboro, N. C.—Airman First Class Charles E. Smith (right) of Amissville, receives congratulations at Seymour Johnson AFP, N. C., upon being named recipient of the Drill Award following his graduation from the Noncommissioned Officer Preparatory School at Westover AFB, Mass. Airman Smith, son of Mrs. Milton G. Hitt, of Amissville, was presented the award for his military excellence while attending the school. The hirman is a manpower management specialist assigned to the 68th Bombardment Wing at Seymour Johnson. His wing supports the Strategic Air Command mission of keeping the nation’s intercontinental missiles and jet bombers on constant alert. A graduate of Rappahannock County High School, Washington, Va., he entered the Air Force in Oct. 1960. Making the presentation is Colonel C. J. Beck, wing commander.
