Your social security account deserves the same careful attention you give your bank account, your savings bonds, or any other matter Important to your future. This reminder came today from Mrs. Hazel F. Daly, social security district manager in Winchester Virginia. She pointed out that the earnings credited to the account of an employee or self-employed persons covered by social |ecurity determines the amount' of any benefits to be paid tb him, to his dependents or to his survivors. The higher the wages credited, the higher the benefits, she stated. "As a matter of fact." Mrs. Daly said, "although a minimum number of credits are required in all cases, it is the amount of wages or self employment income credited that determines how much in social security benefits a person will get." An employee can use his W-2 form as one means of checking the wages reported for him. In addition to total wages earned and taxes for withholding purposes, the W-2 should show
