Washington - Representative John O. Marsh, Jr. has made public a further reply -- this from Secretary of Agriculture Orville L. Freeman -- to a series of letters to top officials urging a major1 diplomatic effort by the United States to obtain relief from increased poultry import duties imposed by the European Common Market. In earlier replies, the State Department and Christian Herter, the President's Special Representative for Trade Negotiations, assured Marsh that intensive negotiations were being continued in the matter. Secretary Freeman’s letter follows: “Dear Mr. Marsh: Thank you for your letter of November 19 concerning recent actions by the European Economic Community (EEC) which increased the supplemental levy on imported whole chickens.
