it was purchased by W. M. Stuart for $583.35. It remained in the Stuart family until several years ago when it was bought by Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Leitch who sold it to Mr. Brock well last month. Since the Stuart ownership it has been rented and used for numerous purposes, according to local residents, such as a tin shop, shoe shop, meat market, antique shop. In most cases the family lived in the house and the adjacent house was used for the business. Tenents were the Foxes, Floyd Young, Charlie Pullen, Charles Scroggins, Mrs. Coj*rie Peyton and Oliver Atkins.
Luther Simulated
Christmas Scene Most everyone has heard the story of Martin Luther and the Christmas tree. Luther lived from 1483 to 1546 and, so the story goes, was $he night so impressed by the sight of snow-oovered evergreens sparkling in the moonlight that he returned to his home and tried to reproduce the memorable scene for his family. He chose a small evergreen tree and, to simulate the reflections of the starlit heavens, 4e attached a number of lighted candles.
