Brandywine loam, sloping phase, is capable of yielding 3 tons of Orchard grass clover hay however one would go broke trying to produce Alfalfa and, at best could only expect to break even with corn.

Hiwassee and Wickham loams, though not quite as good for corn as is Meadowville loam, are excellent for all forage and grain crops in their yield potential.

Be it remembered that no farmer today can afford to employ the “trial” method—check the soil survey in the area of your farm; this takes but little time, adn eliminates much of the gamble in crop production.
