The Race Course of the Rappahannock Polnt-to Point, on the farm of James W. Fletcher Sperryville, where the March 6 races will be held, was opened for schooling February 21 and will continue until race day, weather permitting, Oliver Durant II, Chairman of the Rappahannock Race Committee, says, "As of the moment the course is in good condition with consistent footing*. He has relocated a jump, the one where so many spectacular spills have occurred in the past. "That,* says Mr. Durant, "will be good news to the riders." This timber jump the closest one to the Sperryville Pike, has been moved in order to avoid the heavy take-off and landing conditions which prevail in case of “rough* weather. The Rappahannock Races, second event in the Virginia 1965 Point-to-Point circuit, will open at 12:30, Saturday, March 6, with a colorful Pair Race. Winning pair of foxhunters will be the one having the fastest average time. Course will be laid over 2 1/4 miles and 8 fences, all’Visible from the Spectators’ hill. Course is to be announced the day of the races. The second race is for Quarter Horses. The third race, the W. A. Laing Memorial, is a junior race, under 18 years, run on the flat for 1/2 mile. The Ladies Race, the two big Gentlemen’s races (one for the Seven Corners Shopping Center Bowl) and the exciting Open Race will be routed over the fill 3 1/4 mile hillside course with 14 fences. Women Plan Corporate Communion

Entries Due For Hound Dog Race
Friday, February 26, (tomorrow) is the last day on which hounds may be entered in the Drag Race held in connection with the Rappahannock Pointto-Point Races on March 6. Entries must be in the hands of W. H. Lyne tomorrow, and must contain your name and address and number of hounds you wish to enter. The entry fee is 50 cents for each hound.
