Fire School Is
Completed in County
The four-day State Fire School held at Amissville was completed during the weekend and was concluded Tuesday night with a banquet and the presentation of certificates to members who participated and completed the course. Chief Kennedy of Fort Myers was guest speaker at the dinner.
There were 44 men enrolled in the school and 37 of them earned certificates. Subjects studied were structural fires, breathing apparatus and flammable liquids, and practical demonstrations were given on each. Total man hours spent on the course was 991 with 195 man hours of instruction. Firemen from Amissville, Warrenton, Flint Hill, Sperryville, Vint Hill Station, Warrenton Training School and Jefferson Village took the course.

The regular third Sunday worship service will be held at Oakley Baptist Church on Sunday, July 18 at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. B. G. Titchenell will conduct the service.
Mr. Tharp Sustains Injury To Eye
E. M. Tharp of Castleton is recovering from an eye injury sustained at work last Wednesday. Mr. Tharp wa6 struck in the eye with a nail. He was treated and released at Winchester Memorial Hospital and returned to his position with the State Highway Department on Monday.
