Annual Reunion at
Germanna Sunday
The Memorial Foundation of the Germanna Colonies, Inc. announces plans for the Ninth annual reunion of descendants and friends of the Germanna Colonies at Siegen Forest (Germann) on Sunday, July 18, 1965 between 10:00 a.m. and 3;00 p.m. (E.D.T.) All persons interested in early American history are cordially invited to attend the program and to bring a picnic basket. Subjects to be discussed on the program that starts at; 11:30 a.m. and goes until 1 p.m. are Exhibits of 'Life at Home”,"Second Germanna Colony of 1717” and 'Spotswood’s Route to the Valley”. Lunch and fellowship begins at 1;00 p.m. when old acquaintances are renewed and new ones made at the family table. The Foundation this year is seeking to find if there is enough interest and cooperation to start a museum. They ask that if you have available articles of interest for a Germanna Museum would you contribute them? If so, please contact J. B. Carpenter, Culpeper.
The are two books availble Germanna Record, Number 6 “Second Germanna Colony of 1717” and Germanna Record, Number 5 “Ancestry and Descendants of the NassauSiegen Immigrants to Virginia, 1714-1750” which should prove of interest to many localRappahannockfamilies.
