Ten Injured in

Two Traffic Crashes

A headon collision on Route 211 in Amissville Saturday night involving an auto and a pick up truck resulted in the injury of six people. According to Trooper R. w. Mitchell, Robert Stanley Wharton of Castleton, driving a Ford Sedan, collided with the pickup driven by Charles Wil' liam Jenkins of Washington, Va. Injured in the accident were Robert Lee Wharton who sustained lacerations of the head and possible fractured skull and none; Violet Lee Wharton with lacerated upper lip, forehead and right knee; Jessie Virginia Wharton, injured left eye; Judy Kay Wharton, minor scratches; Virginia Darlene Wharton, cuts abrasions and Robert Stanley Wharton with cuts on the face. All are from Castleton. Riding in the pickup in addition to the operator were George B. Jenkins, Charles E. Jenkins, and Mrs. Charles W. Jenkins. Amissville and Culpeper rescue squads carried the injured to Fauquier and Culpeper hospitals. Robert Stanley Wharton has been charged with failing to drive to the right of the highway.
