News Will Take
Annual Vacation
The Rappahannock News will take its annual Christmas vacation next week. There will be no publication on Thursday December 30. The office will be closed from Friday, December 24 through January 2 and will reopen on Monday, January 3, 1966. The next edition of Rappahannock News will be Thursday, January 6. The Publisher and Editor extend wishes for a happy holiday season.

Holiday Attire
The Christmas Tree in the Town of Washington was lighted Sunday night for the holiday season. Mrs. B. R. Armel, a member of the Town Council, was responsible for the decorating of the tree which Is located in the lot between the Rappahannock National Bank and Washington fire house. The tree grows enough each year to necessitate the addition of several new strings of lights. The annual Christmas home decorating contest sponsored by the Town Council promotes interest in making the town more attractive during the holi days and points up safety through fire prevention. All residents who use the town water supply are eligible for the contest. Judging will take place Sunday, December 26 at 7:30 p.m. Sprays, wreaths and colored lights are already much in evidence in many homes, as well as public buildings. Karl Burke has worked overtime in decorating the Rappahann6ck County Library, the Courthouse and the Washington Methodist Church.
