Garfield Burke, President of Rappahannock J.C.’s has agreed to have someone from this organization to emcee the program. This contest “is sponsored by the Agricultural Extension Service of V.P.I. in cooperation with the Virginia Association of Electric Cooperatives. Mr. Tom Broyles, Manager of the Northern Piedmont Electric Co-op of Culpeper, which serves a part of Rappahannock, will be on hand to present framed Certificates to the winners. Awards to be made at State Short Course include twelve $25.00 Savings Bonds and five portable radios. Also participants are considered for selection to appear on programs in Virginia and in other states. Just recently Billy Payne, spn of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Payne of Amissville was chosen to appear on the Ladies Night Program of the Warrenton Rotary Club to be held at Fauquier Springs Country Club on May 14th. Parents are urged to attend with their children in helping to keep order so others can hear and enjoy the entertainment.
