Is Well Attended
The spring meeting of District VIII Virginia Federation of Home Demonstration Clubs was held Thursday, April 21 at Culpeper Baptist Church Education Building with the Rappahannock clubs as hostesses.
More than 350 women from the clubs of Arlington, Fairfax, Culpeper, Prince William Fauquier, Madison and Rappahannock counties which com prise District VIII, attended the day-long event. Sixteen members from Rappahannock attended. Speaker for the meeting was Dr. Sidney Sandridge, Academic Dean of Southern Seminary, Buena Vista, Va.whose subject was “The Family, Our Nation’s Stronghold."
“Saturday Evening Ghost”
Came Alive Friday
“The Saturday Evening Ghost came alive Friday night as the seniors of Rappahannock County High School presented their play by that title. The comedy was done well by a cast which included Mike Titchenell, Jimmie Jenkins, Carolyn Johnston, Martha Shillingburg, Ronnie Hawkins, Millie Dodson, Barbara Pullen and Bill Welch. Behind the scenes, a number of seniors were responsible for the success of the production. Committees were: Make-up, Nancy Noakes; Artwork, Larry Hackley; Properties, Jean Sisk; Stage, James Latham; Publicity, Les lie Hayes. The play was directed by Mrs. Myra Wolf and Mrs.Marshall.
