A Dinner for the benefit of the May Queen will be given Saturday, April 30, at the home of Mrs. Ruth Rankin in Sperryville, from 6 to 9 p.m. Sponsored by Mrs. Rachel Aylor. A 20-lb. turkey will be given away at 9 o’clock. The home cooked meal will be chicken or chitterling with corn pudding or sweet potatoes, peas or string beans, potato salad, pie, coffee and Kool-Aid. 75C_ in, $1.00 out.
A Dance at the Community Center, Washington, April 29 will feature Walter Davenport of The Plains and his latest recordings. Benefit of the Queen, Miss Jennifer Cook of Northwestern Elementary School, Rectortown.
There will be a Social at the home of Mrs. Roberta Russell In Sperryville on April 30, benefit of the Hopewell Church Building Fund, at which time a bedspread will be given away. Refreshments will be on sale. Come one, come all, and help aut a worthy cause.
