Dr. Snead IV Named

Byrd Campaign Head

Richmond, Va. - A young Washington, Va., physician, Dr. John P. Snead, IV, has been named to manage Senator Harry F. Byrd, Jr. s Democratic Primary campaign in Rappahannock County. Dr. Snead, 32, is a native of Rappahannock County and has been practicing medicine in Washington for four years. His appointment to manage the Byrd Campaign for the July 12 Primary was announced by W. C. (Dan) Daniel, k State Campaign Director. Dr. Snead said that aiding the Byrd Campaign in Rappahannock County is his first political effort, but that he accepted the position because "I think Senator Byrd's record makes him the best man to represent Virginia"^ State Campaign Director Daniel said he was pleased to have "interested young Virginia leaders like Dr. Snead joining the Byrd campaign*. Dr. Snead did both his undergraduate and medical studying, at the University of Virginia. He is married to the former Sharon Fosque of Anancock. = The couple has two children, Stephanie, 7 and Peyton, 6. Commenting on the upcoming primary Dr. Snead said, "Rappahannock always has been a pretty big Democratic county and thinks along the lines of the Byrd philosophy. I think we will do very well here."
