Mr. Brenner and his attractive wife, Phyllis, will use the retreat for weekends and vacations, along with their children, Sandy, 12, David, 9, and Paul, 5. Mr. Brenner’s law practice will keep him in the nation’s capital most of the time, his firm being one of the most active and prominent in Washington. Abe Fortas, formerly a partner in the firm, left it recently to accept an appointment by President Johnson as a member of the Supreme Court. The property, which has been managed for many years by George Smoot, lies between the John R. DeBergh land and Glen Eyrie Farm Inn. A twomile driveway winds up the mountain to a handsome redwood lodgehouse at the crest, which has three bedrooms, two baths and three fireplaces. Nearby are two redwood guest houses, all in a parklike setting. The mainlodgehouse, rustically furnished, overlooks a glistening pond and the surrounding countryside. Of the 505 acres, about 90 are open. The sale was handled by Roger P. Batchelder of Edward A. Harris & Associates, Realtors, of Huntly.
