was involved in a second crash Sunday morning when he was heading south on Route 522 and failed to stop at the Massies Corner stop sign. He slid through the intersection, across all four lanes of the dual highway, went up the bank and knocked over a highway sign. The car, a 55 Buick, was a total loss. According to Trooper J. B. Willis, who investigated this crash, Wilder sustained a lacerated forehead. He was charged with reckless driving and no valid registration plates. Mrs. Lucy Hitt was also involved in another traffic crash early Wednesday morning. At 1;30 a. m. Mrs. Hitt, proceeding east on Route 211 near Massies Corner, ran off the highway and struck a bridge abutment. Trooper W. A. Buntin who investigated the crash, said the new 66 Chevrolet she was. driving was damaged to the extent of approximately $1,000. Another single vehicle crash occurred at Massies Corner Sunday evening at the same location. Marvin Brown Lamb of Ruckersville operating a 55 Oldsmobile heading south on Route 522 failed to stop at the intersection, skidded through into the median strip. He also was charged with reckless driving by Trooper Willis. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $ 150.
Four vehicles were proceeding east on Route 211 through Amissville and three of them became involved in a collision about 8 p.m. Saturday, October 15. According to Trooper Willis, the first vehicle operated by Arthur Pullen slowed to make a right turn into his drive.
