Letter To Editor
Dear Editor: I would like to take this opportunity to let the people of Rappahannock County know what a County Fire School meant to the Chester Gap Firemen. We had nine firemen to participate in the school. Each individual thinks his time was well spent for the thirty hour school.
Training is something that we have wanted and certainly needed in our Fire Department. We were taught all the -standard procedures of fire fighting including, breathing apparatus, flammable liquids, structural fires, ropes and knots, pumps, ladders, small tools and fordable entry. These are all used in everyday fire fighting. I personally urge all the citizens of Rappahannock County to support this fire school whole heartedly in the future. To let this school die in the county, would be a fatal blow to die continued growth and future of the fire service in our home town.
Sincerely,
G. N. "Joe" Williams Chief - Chester Gap Volunteer
