rooper Dicks expressed appreciation toAmissville Rescue Squad for assisting him in traffic control, during the investigation, as thousands of motorists returned from scenic mountain trips. A,collision at Sutphin’s Service Station on the dual lane of Route 211 near Massies Corner Sunday evening at 9:30 was investigated by Trooper Dicks. It involved a 1960 Ford operated by James E. Foster of Washington, Va. and a 1966 Valiant operated by Jackson Lee Gadd of Alexandria. Gadd was heading east on the highway as the Foster vehicle heading west, was mak ing a left turn into Sutphin's Station. Foster was struck in the right side by the Valiant, in the eastbound lane. Charges have not been made to date and the investigation continues. The Ford was a total loss and damage to the Valiant estimated at $700,. Injured in the crash were I Kirs. Gadd and their two month old girl. The infant, asleep ;in a car carrier on the front seat, was thrown to the floor and sustained a broken arm. The mother, riding in the rear, ! attempted to catch the child and was thrown into the windshield, suffering lacerations of the forehead. Mr. Gadd sustained contusions of the
