Farm Bureau Federation Honors Tom Frost
The Virginia Farm Bureau Federation honored Tom Frost, veteran member of the Virginia General Assembly, of Warrenton, with their Distinguished Service Award last night. The presentation was made by Robert B. Delano, President of the Federation, at the Awards Banquet of the organization. The banquet is a part of the program* of the 41st annual conventiA of the organization at the H^tel Roanoke.
The citation, in the form of a framed certificate, is for outstanding service to Virginia Agriculture. In the pres entation Frost was cited for his leadership in the Virginia General Assembly since he became a member of that body in 1952. Frost is 3d ranking member of the House Appropriations Committee, chairman of the Agricultural Appropriations Subcommittee and Chairman of the House Agriculture Com mittee. He has served on agricultural committees of the Virginia Advisory Legislative Council. He represents the 28th district which consists of the counties of Fauquier, Rappahannock, and Warren.
The award, the first of its kind, was presented to Frost in recognition of his leadership in promoting agricultural legislation. Of particular men tion was his sponsorship of legislation calling for a comprehensive study of Adjustment Opportunities in Virginia Agriculture.
