Stock Feed Program
Government-owned feed grains will be offered to eligible farmers in Rappahannock County at reduced prices and in keeping with local support levels for the feed grains supplied, according to H. S. Barksdale, Chairman, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation County Committee. The program is intended to help maintain foundation herds land other eligible livestock. The Chairman explains that the Secretary of Agriculture is authorized to make Cofnmodity Credit Corporationowned feed grains available to eligible farmers in areas where drought or other natural disaster has severely affected pasture and hay crops. “Eligible” farmers, according to the law, are persons in the affected area who do not have sufficient feed for such livestock, and are unable to obtain it through normal trade channels without undue finan|
