Jaycees Consider Football Team for R.C.H.S.
The possibility of a football team for Rappahannock Count y High School was a topic for discussion at the July meeting of the Rappahannock Jaycees. Appointed to further investigate the possibility of a team was Jim Willis, chairman, who was requested to seek the opinion of the public. New members accepted in the local Jaycee Chapter were John Walker Jenkins and the Rev. William Harrison.

New York, June 10 - If money in the bank is an indicator of economic strength, then residents of Rappahannock County are in comparatively good financial shape. Despite their record outlay in the past fiscal year for goods and services, they ended up with more liquid assets than usual. Figures bearing this out have just been released by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, following a survey of all banks in the United States. They show that the combined deposits in savings and commercial banks in Rappahannock County reached a total at the end of the year of $3,199,000. It was a marked increase over the amount on deposit two years previously, $2,919,000. This included money in the checking accounts of individuals, partnerships and corporations, $1,295,000, andsav ings accounts of $1,740,000. Interbank transactions made up the difference.
