Plan Carnival
Plans are complete and preparations underway for the annual Amissville Firemen’s Carnival which will be held next Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 9 through 12 at the carnival grounds there. Featured opening night is a brilliant display of fireworks and Thursday night will bring the colorful parade enjoyed by all. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. and will consist of fire and rescue equipment, majorettes, floats, marching units, music and all else that constitutes a festive parade. A box supper will be available at the food stand following the parade and hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, cakes, pies, etc. will also be on sale that night and every night. *Miss Amissville* will be selected Friday night and a coronation ceremony will be held. She will be chosen from seven candidates working for the title. The grand prize to be awardJ ed Saturday night is a 1967 Plymouth Valiant. Second prize is a portable TV and there will be four $25 Savings Bonds awarded also. Games, rides, fun and amusement will abound each night for children and adults.
