The Flint Hill Fire Department opened its annual fournight carnival last night and it will continue through Saturday. A display of fireworks was the attraction last night and enjoyed by many. Headlining events tonight is the mammoth parade scheduled to start moving at 7 p.m. led by the U. S. Marine Band. Grand Marshal of the parade is Miss Rebecca Alkire, “Miss American Teenager" of Circleville, Ohio, who won the title in September at the pageant in Palisades Amusement Park, N. J. Miss Barbara Yost of Roanoke, the newly chosen "Miss Virginia", will be a special guest in the parade and will assist Miss Alkire in awarding parade prizes. Bands, majorette groups and individuals, floats, beauty queens, antique vehicles, clowns and comics, and fire and rescue equipment will also be featured in the parade.
