Mrs. Odessa Ficklin of Amissville displays her night-blooming cereus which burst forth with three blooms Sunday night. The plant, which stands six feet, has two more buds on it. Mrs. Ficklin expected the cereus to bloom Monday night, but she said it started trembling then began its steady opening. These blossoms began opening about 9 p.m. and the picture was taken at 10:30. With Mrs. Ficklin is Laura Jean Cockerill of Herndon who accompanied the photographer to see the interesting plant.
