Homecoming, Revival at Slate Mills Church

The Slate Mills Baptist Church will hold- its annual homecoming on Sunday, August 13. Sabbath School will be conducted at 10 a. m. followed by the 11 a. m. worship with the Rev. Ralph Rasberry as guest speaker. The morning

program will conclude with a service to dedicate new church pews, hymn books and other church improvements. A dinner on the lawn will be served. Revival services will begin Sunday night, August 13 at the church and continue through Friday, August 18. The Rev. Ralph Rasberry, pas tor of the Chester Gap Baptist Mission, will conduct the revival. The meetings begin each evening at 8 p. m. and the public is extended a cordial invitation to attend.

Sperryville Man Burned in Trash Fire

Steve DeMent III of Sperryville sustained severe burns Sunday afternoon when he was burning trash at his home. He was rushed to Culpeper Memorial Hospital by Deputy Sheriff John Walker Jenkins where he underwent treatment and returned home. He is recovering satisfactorily, said Mr. Jenkins.
